Quote of the month:

"To become different from what we are, we must have some awareness of what we are."

- Bruce Lee

In order to make a difference in our lives, we must first know and accept what we are at this very moment. If we know what we are capable of, as well as accept our current limitations, we can be able to pursue our goals and improvements with vigor and clear focus.

Elementary Shaolin Longfist Routine

In this 3 hour workshop, participants will learn Kung Fu movement combinations, and intensive instruction on a basic Shaolin Kung Fu “ChangQuan” form. There are no acrobatics in this form, so all participants need not worry about difficult Wushu movements and instead concentrate on enhancing their stance, posture and overall forms performance.

Elementary Shaolin Broadsword Routine

This weapons routine is a great introduction to the world of Kung Fu weaponry. In this 3 hour workshop, participants will learn broadsword fundamentals and a basic Shaolin broadsword routine.

Previous weapons experience not necessary. Participants should either purchase a training broadsword through www.kungfudirect.com (see below for proper sizing directions) Because of the movements of the form, a “wushu steel” training broadsword is recommended, but participants may bring a stick that is as long as the distance from outstretched arm to bottom of the ear (with arm hanging down at side), to simulate a broadsword.

Open to current Kung Fu students ages 8 and older, although others may participate if referred by a Kung Fu or Wushu student.

Watch for a new class being added to the class schedule for 4th quarter, "Conditioning and Self Defense"!  Sifu DeJesus is thinking of bringing back the "conditioning and self defense" class, starting in 4th quarter. However, there needs to be a minimum of 6 people before the class can be added to the schedule. Possible class days might be: Mondays from 6 to 7:30, or every other Saturday from12:30 to 2:00 pm. Contact Sifu if you're interested, and let her know which day you might prefer.
